David Goodwin

David graduated from the University of Sydney in 1995.  

After graduating, David worked up and down the north coast of NSW/Queensland before settling in Coffs Harbour 10 years ago. Over this time, he has worked in various settings including operating his own business in Newcastle, mentoring a team of young therapists in Brisbane and held the position as Head Physiotherapist for the Newcastle United Jets.

He has been lucky enough to work with patients from varied walks of life from professional athletes to recreational athletes, young kids through to the elderly. ‘All patients have a story and I enjoy the challenge of sorting out what is going to be the most effective treatment for that person.’

Professionally, David is involved in the local medical community. He has previously worked with various medical bodies throughout the region and currently sits on the board of the North Coast Allied Health Association. He isa strong advocate for ensuring that regional areas have access to quality health care.

In more recent years, David has taken a roll that involves him overseeing the education and training of the staff at Hoys Allied Health – in both internal and external contexts. He is passionate about ensuring that all allied health practitioners achieve their full potential and in turn can provide their patients with the best possible skills.

Over the years, David has worked extensively with many sporting teams and organisations from football to athletics to Rugby League. Over the last 10 years, he has been involved with touch football providing physiotherapy services at State, National and International level.

In his spare time, you will often find David pursuing one of his other passions – running or watching a game of football.

David enjoys treating all injuries with a particular passion for lower limb biomechanics and injuries.
