post fracture rehabilitation.
Broken bones, or fractures, are serious injuries that can leave an individual with a serious loss in function. Depending on the type and location of the fracture, the individual may require surgery to restore normal bone alignment, a cast to allow the bone to heal or a simple sling to support the injured limb.
Research has demonstrated that approximately 80% of the population will experience back pain at some point in their lives, with 50% of these recurring within 12 months.
A suitable rehabilitation program for patients who have undergone a surgical procedure is essential to ensure a return to full pain-free function.
The Hoys team have close ties with many of the orthopaedic and general surgeons located both in Coffs Harbour and greater NSW. With the ever-improving advancements in surgical techniques and procedures, patients are now returning to normal activities at a much faster rate, which is great news.
To ensure a smooth transition after surgery, our Physiotherapists can provide you with the necessary treatment and devise the most effective rehabilitation program to meet your needs and goals, to get you back to your normal lifestyle sooner.
No referral is needed for private patients.
Every patient who presents with back pain displays different symptoms, therefore the treatment provided is very patient specific and isn’t a case of one size fits all.
You can be assured that our team of highly-qualified Physiotherapists will develop an individualised plan to reduce pain and improve recovery, getting you back to living your life to the fullest.
No matter what the initial treatment, a proper rehabilitation program following a fracture is imperative.
Our physiotherapists are qualified at both applying and removing plasters, as well as post-fracture rehabilitation to restore pre-injury function as fast as possible.
