pelvic floor dysfunction.
Dysfunction of the pelvic floor can be debilitating in several ways for women and men, often affecting continence, sexual function and quality of life.
(Note: Yes that does say men – we can treat men with pelvic floor issues too!)
The pelvic floor is a muscular structure and appropriate physiotherapy intervention can assist in managing and resolving pelvic floor issues.
We can assist with issues such as:
pregnancy.
Pregnancy is a wonderful but physically demanding time for your body. Assistance from a physiotherapist during this time can help in the management of pain, pelvic instability, core weakness or to assist in the designing of an appropriate exercise program for your pregnancy’s duration, and even extending into the post-natal period.
We can assist with:
post-natal physiotherapy.
The post-natal or post-partum time following birth is different for everyone as the body recovers from pregnancy and childbirth. This can also present different challenges for the body as nursing and feeding become routine.
Physiotherapy during this time can assist with general aches and pain, as well as:
core exercise classes.
Core Exercise Classes
Core Classes focused on improving your core strength and mobility are a great complementary therapy for Women’s Health Physiotherapy. We have a number of different core exercise classes on offer.
