Exercise Physiology offers a seamless progression from Physiotherapy treatment (Passive Care / Hands On) to Activity based / functional exercises for Work Cover patients, this allows upgrades in WCCC and Return to suitable & Pre-Injury Duties.

Hoys currently achieves upgrades in WCCC within 90% of the injured Clients that attend our functional upgrade (Exercise Physiology) programs. Hoys will also link our AHRR Plans with return to work plans to ensure that the functional outcomes are work and functionally related. Our WorkCover approved Exercise Physiologists treat work related injuries and motor vehicle accidents by providing active exercise therapy to enhance your recovery time and capacity to return to work.

Employers partner with Hoys to provide their workforce with an Employee Wellness Program (EWP) aimed at improving overall health, injury prevention and management, and increased performance with role specific conditioning.

 

When the employee accesses the service, a tab of $500 is assigned to the employee and the employer is charged as the service is used to the value of $500.

 

Services may include any combination of the below to the value of $500:

Pre-employment Assessments

 

A pre-employment physical assessment is an objective functional assessment of a person's ability to perform the essential physical demands of a job (as per supplied position descriptions/duties statements) and is widely recognised as an important part of injury prevention.

 

This assessment, although commonly known as a pre-employment functional assessment can also be conducted with existing staff as their ability to fulfill the demands of their role changes through injury, illness and age.

 

We offer a range of assessments to meet the individual needs of employers. Assessments can include:

 

  • Audiology Screen (Hearing Assessment)
  • Vision (Acuity and Colour) Screen
  • Spirometry Screen (Lung Capacity Assessment)
  • Instant Urine Drug Screen and Breath Alcohol Test

 

Chronic Disease Management

 

Medicare Referrals:

 

The Medicare referral allows people with chronic disease who are being managed by their general practitioner (GP) under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan to access Medicare rebates for Exercise Physiology services.

 

In order for you to be eligible to receive a Medicare Rebate you must be referred from your GP with the following items:

 

  • GP Management Plan GPMP – Item 721 or 732
  • Team Care Arrangements TCAs Item 723 or 732
  • This program was previously known as the ‘Enhanced Primary Care (EPC)’ program

  • Osteoporosis / Falls prevention
  • Weight Management
