Workcover Injury Rehabilitation

Exercise Physiology offers a seamless progression from Physiotherapy treatment (Passive Care / Hands On) to Activity based / functional exercises for Work Cover patients, this allows upgrades in WCCC and Return to suitable & Pre-Injury Duties.

Hoys currently achieves upgrades in WCCC within 90% of the injured Clients that attend our functional upgrade (Exercise Physiology) programs. Hoys will also link our AHRR Plans with return to work plans to ensure that the functional outcomes are work and functionally related. Our WorkCover approved Exercise Physiologists treat work related injuries and motor vehicle accidents by providing active exercise therapy to enhance your recovery time and capacity to return to work.

We encourage injured workers to take an active role in their rehabilitation program by providing all the education and tools necessary to achieve self-management of injury and activities.

$15 per class. 60-minute, Strength & Conditioning class for everyone. These individually prescribed exercises are targeted at an individual’s needs and exercise capabilities in a small group environment. This class focuses on:

Hoys rehab.

$20 per class. 60-minute, Musculoskeletal rehabilitation group class designed to assist you with your prescribed rehabilitation program following physiotherapy treatment, sporting injury, pre and post- surgical intervention or disease management.

$15 per class + $5 pool entry. Aquatic Physiotherapy is a specifically designed exercise program conducted in a heated swimming pool which provides a supported non-weight bearing exercise environment. Hydrotherapy classes can be booked as an individual 1:1 session, supervised 1:4 session, or you can attend one of our weekly group classes held in Coffs Harbour Pool or Sawtell (season permitting).

core - mat.

$20 per class. A class focusing on core muscle activation and strengthening, incorporating elements of Pilates and Yoga to target often neglected areas of the body to improve pain, posture, balance, flexibility and strength. Exercises in these classes cater to different levels of fitness, ensuring beginners right through to advanced attendants can participate.

core - equipment.

$30 per class. Sessions focusing on core muscle activation and strengthening through the use of specialised core equipment including reformer and trapeze table incorporating the principles of Pilates. The versatility of the equipment enables beginners right through to advanced attendants to participate, while being easy to use for those who have trouble getting on and off the floor.

antenatal hydrotherapy.

$25 per class, $5 pool entry. An aquatic class designed to facilitate an active pregnancy through appropriate cardio, strengthening and stretching exercises. Classes are led by our physiotherapist with a special interest in women’s health and pregnancy management.
